The Hostess and the Steward of private Luxury Yachts must provide absolutely impeccable and personalized service to the owner, his family, and their guests. They are responsible for cleaning, service, and laundry for both guests and the crew. The essential certification to start working on Luxury Yachts is the PDSD, which stands for Proficiency in Designated Security Duties. Some positions also require the advanced STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness module. The Hostess and the Steward must know how to manage operational emergency situations related to fires, basic healthcare, rescue, and survival at sea, as well as the use of onboard radio and telecommunications equipment. They must also assist the captain in all boarding and disembarking operations for guests, customs operations, managing onboard documents, safety briefings, and the vessel's equipment.
