Located on the safest harbour in Portugal, sheltered from the prevailing winds, in the wide estuary of the river Arade with its deep-waters, watched over by the forts of Santa Catarina and S. João do Arade, Marina de Portimão® is part of a sea-facing tourist development, extending over an area of around 25 hectares. It has magnificent support facilities for recreational water sports, continuous surveillance, outdoor and covered car parking, an accessible beach, a hotel, a whole shopping centre including restaurants, shops, bars and a magnificent ocean swimming pool. As well as being the base for some of the main maritime tourism operators, who run daily tours along our beautiful coastline and offer a variety of leisure and sports activities, we also have at your disposal a modern and complete boatyard for repairs, located on the left bank of the River Arade, consisting of a 50T gantry and another with the capacity to hoist large vessels of up to 300T and catamarans of up to 9 meters in with.
